
Dr. Beamer grew up in the Detroit area. She attended Wayne State University and graduated in 1987, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biological Sciences. She attended Wayne State University School of Medicine and graduated in 1992. She attended a four-year combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit.
After residency, Dr. Beamer moved to the Chicago area and took an employed physician position at West Suburban Hospital in 1996. She worked for West Suburban from 1996 until September of 2002, at which time she and Dr. Carlon bought their practices from West Suburban Hospital and went into private practice together. Dr. Rhea Craigen practiced with them from 2004-2011.
Dr. Beamer is Board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She has recertified in Pediatrics for the period of 2003-2010 and for Internal Medicine for the period 2008-2018. She is enrolled in programs for continuous professional development and certification through both of her certifying boards.
Dr. Beamer is a member of the ACP and a fellow of the AAP and an AAP-Med-Peds Section member. She teaches students from Rush Medical College and residents at West Suburban Hospital. She has admitting priveleges at Rush Oak Park Hospital and West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park.
She is married with one child and numerous animals at home. She enjoys embroidery (cross-stitch, stumpwork,Brazilian, and ribbon), yoga, and baking cookies.
