Rhea J. Craigen, M.D., is board certified in Family Practice with special interests in Women's Health and Pediatrics.
She attended Howard University and graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. degree in zoology. She attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. She completed her residency in Family Practice at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago, where she was chief resident and recieved the Resident Clinical Teaching Excellence award. After residency, she worked at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park as a teaching attending for six years. She was also a teacher at Loyola for medical students in their Introduction to Medicine Course.
Dr. Craigen went into group practice in Orland Park for two years, doing patient care and resident and student teaching. After starting her family, she deceided to return to Oak Park and West Suburban Hospital, where she worked as an employed physician for a year while building her practice. She joined Drs Beamer and Carlon in private practice in 2004.
Dr. Craigen is a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine. She regularly creates learning activities for phycicians' contiuing medical education. She has admitting priveleges at Oak Park Hospital and West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park..
She spends her free time with her family, reading, watching movies, and singing. She likes to bowl and play raquetball.
